Blanding friends

Well the life of Blanding is definitely an interesting one. There aren't malls, stores, or things like that to do. So activities become things like hiking, and camping or picnicking. So our summer began with a picnic down at Recapture Lake. Our friends have a canoe and kayak so it turns out quite fun!

Little Pink Bathroom

We've been doing some more remodeling, trying to really buckle down on it. We painted it grey, and I made a few crafts for it.

Mother's Day

Sunday May 13, 2012
Today was my first Mother's Day! I've been waiting a long time to finally get that little gift that the priesthood hands out to all the mothers at church. lol Well lucky for me, this year in Blanding they handed out chocolate truffles. For me, this is good, since the usual flower would have probably died in my care. Anyhow, I love my mom so very much, she is the best in the world. She has always been there to support me in my sports adventures, school projects, and anything else. I am grateful for her example: always doing her visiting teaching and going the extra mile in her callings. I wasn't the easiest to raise, but I turned out alright and very blessed because of her and my dad. Love you MOM! As for me, I love being a mom to baby Skyler and have grown and learned so much. He is the greatest blessing in my life, and Travis of course. It was so fun to spend Mothers Day with the two greatest men in my life, don't worry dad, you are great too :). After church we went up to the mountains and built a fire with some friends of ours. Hot dogs, smore's, friends...it was awesome! Skyler's first camp-fire and he loved it too!

Skyler's first biking experience

 Tuesday May 8, 2012
Skyler got a taste of his first bike riding experience. Well...  sort of. We put together the bike trailer, and since Skyler is so small, we put him in the car seat. We took a quick bike ride down to the store to get some milk. Well I'm pretty sure Skyler liked it, but it's hard to tell since he slept the whole time. lol. Better than him not liking it, and screaming the whole way though. Hopefully this is something we'll do a lot of this summer.

Blessing Trip in Idaho

Thursday May 3, 2012
Last night, the three of us all hopped in the car after Travis got off work at 3:30 and took a long drive to Uncle Jackson and Aunt Rachel's new place in West Jordan. We got there about 10 Pm and stayed the night. Then this morning we spent time with them playing with the Kinect. It was so much fun, playing a martial arts game. I was so sore that evening. I should invest in one myself for some exercise.

After a few hours we headed to Twin Falls, but not before making a stop at Fiesta Ole! The one thing about living in Blanding, is that we eat home-made food every day. So when vacation comes, it's all about eating out at our favorite places (mostly my favorite places lol). When we got to Twin we spent time at Jeff and Kathern's. Brandon and Jeremy were there as well, and we ordered some pizza and watched the movie Tin Tin. It was actually pretty entertaining. Then that evening we headed to Gma and Gpa Mason's to stay the night.

Friday May 4, 2012
This morning Travis and I made it to the Temple for a session. I am so glad we had that opportunity, it's not very easy with a baby. I really learned a lot, and the spirit was so strong. It definitely needs to happen more often. After the temple, we went and had lunch at Tomato's. This whole time Gma Mason was babysitting Skyler. This was the longest time I've spent apart from my sweet baby boy. It was really nice to have a date day with Travis, but by the end of the day I was missing my little man. After lunch we met with Gma and Gpa Mason and ran a few errands, then headed to Jeff and Kathern's again for a little time with Skyler. Then that evening Travis, Jeremy, and I went to the movie Hunger Games. It was a really good show, although the whole concept is kind of morbid to think about.

Saturday May 4, 2012
Today was spent with the Plott family. It was so nice to finally see everyone. We went to the bike store for a few errands, and Travis and I got a bike trailer so we can ride our bikes with Skyler. While there we put him on a bike and well... he wasn't a fan. lol I guess dad will have to teach him how awesome it is.

Everyone came down and we were able to finally meet Baby Emery! He was such a cutie, and so calm. He had the cutest faces and expressions with his eyebrows. He's less than 3 weeks older than Skyler, but is a bit bigger.

Later in the day it was quite funny. Travis and I owed Radlee some money for getting us a headlight and also for Tj's birthday present we went in on. Well it took him a few months to finally send Travis his gift, so for being late we paid him back in change. We thought it was a cute idea.

After some catching up with all the family we watched Mission Impossible 4. I liked the others better, but it wasn't too bad.

Sunday May 5, 2012
Today was the big day! We woke up early in the morning since Sacrament started at 8 am. After hustling to get ready, we headed to church, where family and friends met to support us as Travis gave Skyler his blessing. He did such a good job and I am so proud of him. After, we heard testimonies from different members of the family. It really was a great spiritual experience. I am so grateful for the gospel in my life and that I have an amazing husband who holds the priesthood and uses it. I have the greatest family and am so blessed. After the blessing we had a delicious lunch at the Plott's home and took a family picture.

The boys also got into it a little. Poor Travis usually ends up getting the worst of it. Quite entertaining to watch though. :)

The Skyler was also able to meet Aunt Luanne and Uncle Jim. After some more chatting, all the Plott children went home. Travis, Skyler, and I went to the Mason home for dinner. We enjoyed more time with family and caught up with some old friends. It was cool that Sterling, Miranda, and Chloe could come as well as Des, Christine, and Spencer. It was the first time I met Spencer, he was so big! What an adorable little boy. It was fun watching all the kids play together. We also managed to get a family picture.

When all was said and done, we had a great vacation! Skyler did pretty good on the drive, as good as is expected. He slept great every night, only waking up once. And  it was so good to spend time with family and friends.
